Traditional Radiators: Versatility in Classic Design

July 17th, 2020

When thinking about radiators, no doubt an image of one of our traditional statement styles will spring to mind. The typical cast-iron look has dominated the market since its introduction in the 1800s, so it is no wonder that our traditional styles continue to be our best sellers.

At Bisque, the timeless Classic radiator is where our legacy began and how we embarked on revolutionising the way radiators were seen and sold - no longer as technical plumbing items but rather as desirable interiors products.

We took the traditional cast iron shape and brought it bang up to date through innovative materials and technology, helping to showcase its endless versatility. Plus, with various towel rail options, like the Balmoral and Osbourne, interesting details as seen on our Tetro, a bespoke colour matching service and unique finishes to boot, there is undoubtedly a traditional style radiator to suit any kind of space.

Our latest addition to the traditional range, the Bisque Balmoral is the perfect radiator for large, vintage bathrooms as it easily heats large spaces and keeps your towels dry. This Victorian style ball-jointed towel rail comes with a beautiful chrome finish but can also be ordered in a range of fabulous finishes including nickel, brass and antique bronze.

Thanks to its transitional wall-mounted design, The Buckingham is ideal for both modern and traditional bathrooms. The simple ladder style design creates a feeling of space which is useful for small rooms and tight spots that are common in older properties and modern flats. The open design also lends itself to experimenting with complementary and contrasting colours creating a peekaboo effect. Made from chromed brass, the Buckingham can be ordered in electric and dual fuel options.

The Osbourne is a floor-mounted model offering plenty of space for luxurious towels. It is an equally stylish option for industrial-style homes and loft bathrooms thanks to its antique look. For design inspiration, take notes from interior stylist Edwina Boase who included the Osborne with a polished brass finish in an art deco bathroom featuring muted tones. Available in a number of our deluxe finishes, the towel rail is hugely versatile for any space.

Fondly referred to as the old school style radiator, our Classic has an enduring appeal and a great heat output, which makes it the perfect companion for a wide range of interiors. Our Lacquered Bare Metal finish, as seen here, is the perfect addition to any contemporary, industrial interior for a quirky and modern look. With thirty-eight stock sizes, as well as a vast range of bespoke size options, the Classic is the versatile radiator that can fit into any space. At Bisque, our bespoke colour matching service also means we’re able coordinate to popular paint ranges such as Farrow & Ball and Little Greene

Classically elegant, our Tetro combines all the benefits of modern radiators with beautiful retro styling and, like all Bisque models, is available in a wide range of sizes. The Tetro is ideal for those that are all about the details thanks to its delicate filigree pattern along each cornered edge – a graceful nod to the cast iron radiators of old. Made from recycled aluminium, however, the Tetro is much more energy efficient (and lighter!) than its cast iron counterparts making it perfect for reducing your overall environmental impact.
