The Bisque Radiators Guide to… Dual Fuel Radiators

September 16th, 2019

Here at Bisque we are widely recognised for our varied and versatile selection of radiators. Many homeowners prefer to opt for a traditional plumbed model – this is connected to your central heating and operated via your boiler. Others prefer electric models, which can essentially be plugged in as and when required, or moved around the house – perfect for outdoor rooms, conservatories or cabins, for example. But have you ever considered a duel fuel radiator?

Duel fuel models are perfect for that ‘in-between’ weather, where it’s not quite hot enough to have your heating on, but you still want to heat your bathroom towels.

Many of Bisque’s towel radiators come with the option of a duel fuel element, or supplementary electric heater, meaning it can be heated by your main central heating system but also by an electrical source. It is this electrical source that heats your towel radiators in the warmer months, guaranteeing crisp, dry towels each and every time.

Making your chosen towel radiator duel fuel is simple and straightforward. A special T-piece is installed alongside your standard valves and electrical element, meaning it runs off the central heating in winter and electrical outlet in summer. But don’t panic about overheating your bathroom during a heatwave – the electrical element is sized so that it only heats towels, rather than the whole space.

A duel fuel design is available on a wide selection of our most popular models, including the Chime, Alban and Pera, plus our new traditional collection comprising the Balmoral (pictured), Buckingham and Osbourne.
