Radiators for Vintage interiors

October 25th, 2016

At team Bisque we have quite diverse interior design preferences - some love the clean lines of contemporary Italian furniture whilst others like nothing better than trawling vintage markets to hunt down that perfect 1950s bar trolley.

But when it comes to radiators we all agree that modern efficiency always wins over antiquated models. Those cast iron radiators may look nice but they typically contain much more water (which requires more energy to heat-up) and they take far longer to get warm, which is not very practical for modern living styles.

So what radiator styles work best for vintage interiors? Well, our Classic radiator is the obvious first choice. This old school radiator is a more efficient version of the cast iron models and comes in a huge range of sizes and finishes. The lacquered bare metal finish looks fabulous when mixed with other natural materials such as wood, as do our earthy textured finishes such as brown and beige quartz. Or for brighter vintage interiors, radiators with a pop of colour can look amazing.

Another good option is our Tetro radiator range. This unique design complements vintage styling with its beautiful filigree pattern but being made from aluminium, which is more energy efficient, the radiator is slimmer and more delicate than other styles. And the volcanic finish works really well with richer vintage tones.

Perhaps surprisingly, we also find that more contemporary radiator designs, such as our Finn and Decorative Panel radiators can pair well with vintage interiors, as their linear lines bring balance and structure to what can be a very diverse collection of objects.

Alternatively for something truly special you can’t do better than our Arteplano radiator in etched copper or brass. These stunning radiators look like beautiful vintage “finds” in their own right and as each model is individually etched, everyone is truly unique.
