Radiators for Industrial Urban interiors

December 9th, 2016

Over the years we have seen many interior trends come and go, but one that seems to only ever increase in popularity is the raw and honest Industrial Urban style. Very popular in loft apartments, modern homes and commercial spaces, common characteristics of this style include exposed pipes and brickwork, neutral tones, natural wood and metal surfaces, polished concrete and upcycled and recycled feature elements. The industrial urban style oozes authenticity and makes for a hard-wearing yet handsome home to be proud of, and we can’t get enough!

The Industrial Urban style is all about the careful balance of style and function, which is very much a principle that we focus on with all of our radiators. We know that cast iron radiators aesthetically can be very beautiful, but in terms of functionality they are just not practical for modern day living as they contain a much larger volume of water than modern radiators, which requires more energy and time to heat up. Our Classic radiator however is far more efficient but still has the traditional look which is so fitting in Industrial settings, especially in our popular lacquered bare metal finish which exposes the manufacturing marks that occur in the production of the radiator.

Our Classic radiator is an obvious choice for Industrial Urban styled interiors, and available in a huge range of finishes and sizes, including curved and angled options, it is greatly favoured for its versatility. The lacquered bare metal finish creates a very dramatic look against exposed brick, but other finishes including industrial Inox Look or Grey Aluminium or even the ultra-chic Matt Black would look equally at home in these settings. Another popular alternative to the Classic is the Tetro as it boasts a traditional look with its beautiful filigree pattern yet is also very energy efficient as it is made from aluminium, which is an efficient conductor of heat, using less energy to heat-up and also highly responsive to fluctuations in room temperatures.

Also boasting these eco-credentials are our Ellisse and Lissett models which are also made from aluminium, however these models feature contemporary designs for a very chic look, especially when paired with a bare brick or polished concrete backdrop. Both models are available to order in a wide range of colours and special finishes, but we think our volcanic finish looks truly stunning in Industrial settings.

Another feature popular with Industrial interiors are floor to ceiling windows, which look gorgeous when paired with our Flow Form radiator. The industrial heating element appears as a beautiful object in its own right with this range, and this also reflects the whole ethos around the Industrial Urban style – the perfect balance of form and function. For a really sleek look why not opt for chrome finish, available to order on our larger diameter models from January 2017?

For Industrial Urban style bathrooms we have many options that would look fantastic, as stainless steel and chrome finishes suit this style perfectly. For a feature piece we would highly recommend our Chime or Hot Hoop towel, as these designs are both functional but boast a real wow factor! Or maybe you prefer something more subtle and chic? Our Pera has a quiet elegance and traditional style that really complements this style, as shown in this beautiful setting below.
